Celebrating the passion of the 70’s & inspired by sports cars tachometers
A good looking car watch inspired by sports cars from the 1960s and 1970s.
A classic instrument panel inspiration, but still keeping with watch aesthetics. The main hand is also used to count minutes to really get that gauge feel. The straps has a unique set of double holes going all the way down the strap to be fasten with a dual hook buckle. The design idea for this we got from classic racing gloves and the set of holes running down the fingers.
The watch is made with a PVD coated case, real leather strap and crystal glass. The watch uses a Miyota quartz retrograde chronograph movement. Later we released two limited edition variations with their own custom straps, which quickly sold out.
From the Latin translation roughly meaning “The racing way of life”, we are a small outfit situated just outside the Norwegian capitol of Oslo.
Being highly passionate about all forms of design it was really important to us that apart from the movement, all parts of the watch were designed by us and produced only for this watch. There are no shortcuts with the CMXI.
Cursus Victus was established in 2015 by our lead creator Torgeir Sanders, a bootstrap designer and entrepreneur with a big passion for anything old with an engine and some beautiful lines to it.
All watches are designed in Norway and assembled in Hong Kong.
